Quick reminder: all discounts end Sunday (and our planned April break…)
Nab a 20% discount on all our courses, retreats and subscriptions
Before we disappear for a few weeks, a quick reminder about something we mentioned at the top of this week’s newsletter.
We’re pressing pause on Talking Travel Writing for April — deadlines, research trips and manuscript submissions have all collided rather spectacularly, so we won’t be back in your inbox until May.
As always, we’re pausing billing for the month for paid subscribers to make up for the silence, and also offering 20% for anyone who subscribes before 5 April.
But we aren’t only offering discounts on our paid newsletter.
Until tomorrow (this Sunday), you can get a discount on the following:
20% off Talking Travel Writing annual subscription
Access our full archive of editor interviews, pitching advice and industry intel.
Travel Pitching Index (20% off with code TAX20)
A database analysing 37 top travel publications - including what they publish, how they pay, and how to pitch them.
We’ve just updated two major magazine profiles to reflect recent editorial changes.
The Travel Writer’s Pitch Pack (20% off with code TAX20)
18 real, commissioned pitches from award-winning writers, plus links to the published pieces.
Mid-Career Travel Writers’ Retreat (limited discounted spots), February 2027
A few discounted places remain. Expect collaborative sessions on the finances and business of travel writing, pitching workshops, contact-swapping and we’ll spend several hours deep-diving into the travel media, examining magazines and newspapers to work out what they’re commissioning from freelancers. It’s all ensuite accommodation with bed, breakfast and dinner included.
NEW! Travel Writing 101 Residential (Cotswolds, 16–19 November)
Our in-person course for beginner or early career travel writers struggling to properly get their feet in the door. This three-night residential will help you work through the framework that’s helped our past attendees land bylines in The Telegraph, The Independent, BBC Travel and Wanderlust. Expect a small group, hands-on learning and zero fluff.
If you’ve been meaning to invest in your travel writing (or offset a few expenses before the end of the tax year), you have until midnight tomorrow (BST) to make a saving.
After that, prices go back up, and we’ll be off-grid for a while.
If you have any questions, send us an email on hello@travelwriting.xyz.
