NEW! All-women retreat for travel writers
We are running a three-night, all-women retreat for mid-career travel writers
Opportunities to make friends with our peers can be few and far between. With networking events often taking place in London and only lasting a few boozy hours, expanding your network and making healthy, lasting connections with colleagues can be difficult in this industry. That’s why we’re running our first ever mid-career travel writer retreat.
From 27 February—2 March 2026, we’re running a three-night relaxed Travel Writing Retreat for women in travel media who want to build better connections, talk about their ideas, meet like-minded travel writers and explore how to develop their careers.

It will be a relatively relaxed affair, with breakfast and dinner provided each day, optional networking and workshopping sessions and round-table discussions about the issues our industry faces. We’ll do pitch workshops, deep-dives into what’s being published in the moment, and swap contacts and tips in informal networking hours.
If you’ve got a fair few bylines under your belt but want to connect with other women travel writers to create collaborative relationships and a community in your industry, this retreat might just be for you. Here’s what you need to know:
Where is it?
We’ll be staying at Three Mile Beach near St Ives in Cornwall. Bedrooms will be single occupancy (unless you want to share a twin room, in which case find a buddy and we’ll be able to discount your rate).
When is it?
27 February—2 March 2026
What’s included?
Three nights bed and breakfast in a bedroom inside one of the self-catering Beach Houses, plus dinner each night. Each beach house has its own private sauna and hot tub. There’s also free wetsuit hire for sea dipping and a surf lesson included, PLUS you’ll get a one-year upgraded subscription to this newsletter (existing paid subscribers will get a 12-month extension on their current sub).
Note that due to the nature of the accommodation, you will most likely have to share a bathroom with other attendees (this is why we’ve stipulated women-only, sorry guys).
How much does it cost?
The total cost is £450. This excludes lunches (there’s a self-catering kitchen in each house), travel costs and other incidental expenses.
How do I get involved?
Due to the intimate nature of the retreat and the fact we want to create a dynamic group that will form fruitful and lasting relationships, we’re asking you to submit a short form before you book so we can ensure we’re all on the same page.
There are just 10 places on the Retreat and it will be a first-come-first-served basis. The Retreat may not go ahead if we do not fill all 10 spaces.
We hope to run this type of retreat again in the future, so if you can’t make this one, we hope to see you at a future retreat!
