How to make the most of IMM UK 2025
It's that time of year again! Lottie shares her tips for IMM 2025
I’ve long said that TravMedia’s IMM is one of the most useful networking events of the year. I’ve been attending the conference every year since 2014 and it has been the greatest source of securing press trips and interesting stories. When I was a commissioning editor, it kept me up to speed on news and things I needed to know going on throughout the world for the coming year, and as a freelancer, it’s gold — I can turn conversations into cash at this two-day conference.
Wondering WTF is IMM? It’s a two-day travel media conference with a speed networking set-up, where PRs from tourism boards, travel operators and hoteliers sit behind a table and journalists move between them every 15 minutes. Appointments are booked in advance via the IMM platform, and there’s lunch both days and a drinks party at the end.
But IMM is also an intense and sometimes overwhelming experience: there’s two days of near-solid networking (although this year it’s 1.5 days with the Summit sessions on the Monday morning), sit-down lunches and evening drinks. So — how do you survive? I’ve got a strategy. Here’s how I make the most of my IMM experience each year.
