Earlier this month, we caught up with loveEXPLORING’s brand new editor Abra Dunsby-Sircana. Fresh from her long-standing role at TTG, a trade mag no less, as Features Editor, she’s now at the helm of one of travel’s youngest publishers. Here’s what you need to know about pitching to loveEXPLORING.

So, what is loveEXPLORING?

loveEXPLORING is one of the brands under the umbrella brand, Love Inc. There’s loveEXPLORING, loveFOOD, loveMONEY and lovePROPERTY.

loveEXPLORING is for travel obsessives and adventure lovers. Our audience is around 25 to sort of 45 years old, and the demographic is slightly skewed towards female readers. They are really interested in a lot of different things from sort of social history and museums, to city breaks and destination guides. We’ve got quite a broad range of content.

What sort of content do you publish?

We publish a lot of galleries and they range in size, from 30 all the way up to 100 slides. They’re essentially round-ups, written by in-house writers and freelancers, and they’re generally research based. We often commission people who have expertise in certain parts of the world. There’ll be galleries on everything on everything from the newest cruise ships that are coming out to round ups with a more historic focus, like “American national parks through the decades”, for example. These galleries are syndicated to MSN in the USA, UK, Canada and Germany. That’s something bear in mind when you’re pitching ideas — the global reach and focus.
