There was no Talking Travel Writing email today and we’re sorry about that. We hoped to bring you a version of the full-length interview we did with Rory Boland, but with Steph out of action thanks to Covid (she’s fine now, just a little tired, thanks for asking) and Lottie completely distracted by work and birthdays, we dropped the ball. Apologies for that.

Destination experts needed
Hello! Lottie here.
I’m working with a hotel brand to commission some guide content for their loyalty programme website. I’m looking for expert writers who can pen country and city guides to a number of European and Middle Eastern destinations. I’m not looking for writers who have been once or twice, but instead people who are or have been completely immersed in a place, putting them in a unique position to write genuinely useful and insightful content. We’ve got some requirements, so read on…
What’s the content & deadline?
We need one country and one city guide per destination (list below; keep reading for details). Each guide will be between 1,000 and 1,500 words. We will need content delivered within the next few weeks.
What constitutes a destination expert?
To be right for this gig, you must either:
Live in or have lived in the destination
Have travelled there extensively more than once or visited for an extended period of time in the destination (three months or more)
Or, have written guidebooks to the destination in question.
Bonus points if you’re fluent in the local language, too.
How can I get involved?
If you’re a genuine expert in one of the destinations I’ve listed below, please email lottiecgross@gmail.com with the subject line “Expert writer: [insert destination/s here]”
In the body of the email, please include:
The destinations you’re an expert on & how you qualify
Your portfolio or relevant works/cuttings
Where you live right now
A 50-word writer bio written in first person
Languages you speak and/or write in
