You might not know Daniel Fahey, but you’ve probably read his work. And if you’ve not read anything written by him (in the likes of The Telegraph, Positive News, Metro), we’ll bet you’ve read things edited or commissioned by him during his time working for Lonely Planet.
Regardless, he’s a travel writer, editor and all-round good guy and he needs our help. Dan was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year. He had surgery and it went well. But now he needs treatment — and lots of it. Some of the treatment he is going to have costs money because it isn’t available on the NHS, and all of his treatment will take up time and energy, meaning working is no longer a viable option. Dan’s friend has set up a GoFundMe on his behalf, and with Dan’s permission, we’re sharing it with the incredible TTW community to help bolster the fund.
We’ve put in the profits from this month’s newsletter, so we’d be really grateful if you could give anything affordable to help our fellow travel writer through an incredibly rough time.
Done. I hope he gets better very, very soon.
Oh my, so young ...! I've certainly seen Dan's name around ... happy to make a donation and pleased to see the total is climbing. Hoping for a good outcome for Dan and his family.
